Thanks for support of rural communities

Mark McNeese,
Thank you for the time you invested in the Kamiah Community Review. Your expertise and willingness to be involved in the process were essential to the success of the review.

The Idaho Rural Partnership and the Idaho Community Review Steering Committee are truly grateful to you and the Idaho Transportation Department for actively supporting rural communities. The community review process provided towns like Kamiah a valuable service while creating a strong working relationship with federal, state and local governments and the private sector.

We continue to receive positive feedback from home team participants. I’ve received reports that participants already have a fresh outlook and are moving forward with some of our initial recommendations. You should be proud of the role that you played in making a difference in this rural community, and of the observations, recommendations and resources that you provided for the final report.

Jon Barrett reported that you deserved a “gold star” for the quality and quantity of written information provided.

Your efforts after the review are just as important. The citizens of Kamiah will need our continued assistance as they move forward to solve the problems facing their community.

Thank you for your significant contribution to Kamiah, and ultimately, all of Idaho.

Shelby Kerns,
Executive Director
Idaho Rural Partnership

Wonderful job keeping highways passable

ITD Maintenance (via the Internet),
Wanted to express our sincere appreciation for your new highway crew in New Meadows. They stayed right on our roads here and made it a much safer driving experience here last winter than the previous group had done in several years. The new boss has made a big difference in the safety and maintenance of US 95. Thanks for such a big effort.

Rob Marie Strong,
New Meadows
