Annual administrative workshop scheduled Sept. 11

Formal presentations, a team-building activity and luncheon await administrative personnel from throughout the state when they assemble Sept. 11 for the 21st annual ITD Administrative Support Workshop in Boise.

The workshop theme appropriately focuses on “Sailing to Success,” by providing participants opportunities to learn from each other and to explore topics that relate to their professional careers. A late-morning team-building event will feature a “Jeopardy” style quiz about Idaho.

Workshop organizers have secured a varied list of merchant and individual donations that will be awarded in the form of door prizes. Free drawings are planned – one in the morning and two in the afternoon. (See partial list of contributors.) Those who haven’t contributed (homemade items are acceptable) but would like to do so should contact a member of the organizing committee by Sept. 4.

Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. at the Nazareth Retreat Center, 4450 N. Fivemile Road. The professional development and networking workshop is limited to the first 125 who register. Because of support from ITD’s executive management team, there is no registration fee for ITD employees. A report this week indicates about half of the seats remain available.

Deputy Director Scott Stokes will join 2008 workshop chairperson Judie Cahoon in providing opening remarks and an official welcome at 8:30 a.m.
