Jacqueline “Jackie” (Mittleider) Jones (1961-2008)

Driver Services is mourning the loss of a long-time department and state employee, Jackie Jones. She passed away unexpectedly Aug. 30, 2008, while on camping trip with her family. Jackie was born, raised and educated in Boise. She started her state career 1985 in the Department of Administration as a primary billing clerk in the state print shop.

In 1993, with the closure of the print shop, Jackie transferred to Group Insurance and in 1996 transferred to Driver Services. From 2000 to the time of her death, Jackie worked as a Technical Records Specialist within the Administrative License Suspension (ALS) Hearing Unit.

In this position, Jackie’s primary responsibilities were the scheduling of ALS hearings (150 to 200 per month). This responsibility required coordinating schedules and communicating with attorneys, law enforcement officers, and drivers, issuing subpoenas, assembling and distributing files and evidence packages the assembling and submission of judicial review court packets.

Included in these processes was the record-keeping, filing and microfilming of documents.

As a long-time employee, Jackie interacted with many individuals and became friends with many co-workers at ITD. She will be missed and our prayers go out to her family. She is survived by her husband of 20 years, Keith, and her daughter, Krista, parents, Howard and Pearl Mittleider of Boise and five siblings.

The family has requested that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to a cause that was dear to Jackie’s heart, her daughter’s college education. Donations can be made at any Key Bank to the Krista Jones College Fund.
