Employee survey, benchmarking important
to identify what works well or needs improvement

ITD colleagues,
I am pleased to tell you about the Organizational Benchmarking Survey we will be conducting in ITD. The purpose of this survey is to assist ITD in assuring that our work environment is as productive and satisfying as possible. You will soon be receiving information explaining how to access the ITD Organizational Benchmarking Survey.

Your responses, together with those of your fellow employees, will identify areas that are working well and also opportunities for improvement. The survey responses will serve more as a roadmap rather than a report card and will establish a baseline measurement from which to compare over time.

I want to assure you that all responses to this survey are confidential. None of the information you supply will be associated with you individually. Your completed survey will go directly to Oasis Consulting Services and be combined with other responses. Oasis is an independent organization that helps government agencies create productive and satisfying workplaces.

You are NOT asked to provide your name when you respond to the survey. However, for purposes of analysis, the survey asks you for your immediate supervisor’s name and some information about your work in ITD, such as years of service. Again, your responses will be combined with those of other employees and analyzed in a manner that ensures no one outside Oasis will have access to any individual survey response.

The aggregate results will be reported to all ITD employees early in 2009. In addition, managers and supervisors will attend a workshop to review the results and identify beneficial steps that they can take. Workshop participants will receive a report of the combined survey responses of their employees if at least four of their employees respond. Combining the responses in this way serves to assure confidentiality.

Thank you in advance for participating in this survey and for contributing to the continued success of ITD. If you have any questions, please contact TJ Brown at TJ@consultoasis.org or (702) 562-3695.
