Summary of ACE peer review to be presented Thursday

A peer review of the department’s engineering services has produced positive recommendations that will help ITD provide better service and become more efficient, Director Pamela Lowe said.

Lowe, Deputy Director Scott Stokes, and Chief Engineer Tom Cole were briefed on Friday (Nov. 14) about the report. A presentation will be given to the transportation board on Thursday at 8:30 a.m. in the auditorium of the Headquarters building in Boise.

The department requested a peer review by the American Society of Civil Engineers. Members of the team have been interviewing department staff over the last three weeks.

“There is good information that we will be able to use immediately,” Lowe said. “The report also was complimentary of many of the department processes and services.”

The peer review team was very complimentary about the openness of ITD employees and their willingness to help in the review,” Lowe said " I would like to personally thank the ITD employees who took their time to be interviewed, and who provided data to the peer reviewers."

Employees are encouraged to watch the presentation to the transportation board on Thursday through the department’s video conferencing system or in the auditorium. A summary of the presentation will be posted on the Intranet after the board meeting, and the full report will be made available to employees when it is completed next month.
