Transporter to add 'Your Space' for interactive topics

The Transporter will add several new features this year that focus on employee interests and contributions and that will make the weekly online newsletter more interactive.

“Your Space” will provide employees an opportunity to ask questions related to transportation or ITD issues.  Questions can be directed via e-mail to the ITD Office of Communications for response by appropriate authorities. Topics can include administrative processes, policies, personnel issues or other ITD/transportation issues.

Employees may remain anonymous if they choose, explains Transporter editor Mel Coulter. But in some cases, including a name and e-mail address can help facilitate responses.

Another Transporter addition will enable employees to share information about their accomplishments or special interests or those ofcolleagues. “News to Share” can be of a professional or personal nature and will link from the Transporter’s main page to a collection of contributed items.

“We also are very interested in developing or publishing feature-length stories about the personal successes of our colleagues,” Coulter said. “Those features, which should include photographs or other illustrations when possible, will appear under a new title ‘ITD Lifestyles.’ ”

Finally, the Transporter will actively collect information from each district about special projects or employee successes and will publish the stories on a regular basis.

“We hope these additions will make the Transporter even more interactive and will engage the ITD community and our employees,” Coulter added.
