Idaho prepares to greet international athletes
for Special Olympics World Winter Games, Feb. 7-13
Athletes from 110 countries will descend upon Idaho in about two weeks for the largest multi-day event ever held in the state.
Athletes will be participating in a variety of competitions for the Special Olympics World Winter Games. Venues include Bogus Basin Ski Resort near Boise; Sun Valley; Ponderosa State Park (McCall); and Qwest Arena and the Boise Centre on the Grove in Boise.
Events include: alpine skiing, cross country skiing, figure skating, floor hockey, snowboarding, snowshoeing and speed skating.

In addition to the competitions list above we also will be hosting Floor Hockey and Speed Skating. Both of these venues have limited capacity for spectators. In order to ensure that there is enough space for the athletes’ families, the organizing committee encourages individuals to watch the athletes at the venues listed above. |
