Conference to include five new awards

Five new Excellence in Transportation awards will be presented as part of the 2009 Project Development Conference, April 7, 8 in Boise. Award winners will be announced at a banquet from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on the opening night of the conference at the Boise Centre on the Grove.

New achievement categories include Engineer of the Year, Professional of the Year, ITD Career Achievement, Business/Organization of the Year and Transportation Planning. They more than double the number of awards previously presented. Existing project-related categories include Construction, Environmental Stewardship, Maintenance and Operations, and Public Participation.
