Medical center offers smoking cessation classes
A six-week program designed to help individuals kick the smoking habit will be presented beginning next week at St. Luke’s Regional Medical Center in downtown Boise.
The series begins Tuesday with the class “On the Road to Freedom.” A “Wanting to Quit” session will follow on Thursday. The Tuesday-Thursday schedule will continue through March 5. Classes will be in the conference room on the seventh floor of the medical center and will run from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Respiratory therapist Lynda Erfurth will teach the classes. Participation in the series is free because fees are covered by the Idaho Tobacco Millennium Funds through the Central District Health Department. The classes are part of the American Lung Association’s “Freedom from Smoking” program.
