Bicycle, pedestrian responses to be discussed
next week in eastern Idaho
Statewide bicycle and pedestrian mobility visioning results will be presented Tuesday through Thursday (Feb. 24-26) in Idaho Falls, Victor and Pocatello.
In January, citizens throughout the state expressed their preferred vision for non-motorized mobility at the community, regional and state levels, Bicycle and Pedestrian Coordinator Mark McNeese said.
"Some great ideas were expressed during those January discussions. I think people will be surprised at how consistent they were from city to city and region to region.
Individuals interested in hearing the results of those discussions are invited to attend the public presentations.
"Once we come to agreement on our vision, then we'll start working on the building blocks that will need to exist to make it happen," McNeese said. “The vision we adopt will guide us into the future, so we need to make sure we get it right."
The three forums in eastern Idaho are as follows:
Idaho Falls - Tuesday, Feb. 24: 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., Bonneville Metropolitan Planning Organization conference room, 1810 W. Broadway, Ste. 15
Victor - Wednesday, Feb. 25: 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., Victor City Council chambers, 32 Elm Street
Pocatello - Thursday, Feb. 26: 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., Bannock Transportation Planning Office conference room, 214 E. Center
Similar discussions were held in Moscow, Lewiston, Sandpoint and Coeur d'Alene Feb. 10-12.
