Praise given for quick response to I-84 incident
An Idaho driver recently contacted the governor’s office commending the quick response ITD’s Jim Cherry, literally describing him as a lifesaver on Interstate 84. Cherry, who operates one of the Incident Response trucks in District 3, assisted Katie Omado after the car she was driving hit debris on the highway.
According to Omado, she was traveling on the interstate in a construction zone when she lost control of her vehicle after hitting debris on the highway.
“She was amazed at how quickly Jim Cherry was there on the side of the road to calm her down and call a tow truck for her,” according to the governor’s office. “She stated she was about ready to have a heart attack but believe s the comfort that Jim Cherry provided avoided that.”
ITD Director Pamela Lowe joined the governor’s staff in commending Cherry for his response.
