More information

Dave Curtis of the Idaho Board of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors (IPELS) will provide an overview of the pending rule changes for continuing professional development units, required of all licensed engineers. The new rules will be adopted with the adjournment of the 2009 Idaho Legislature.

Generally, the word “engineering” is added to the scope of the existing bill and several changes will become effective regarding the continuing education requirements for maintaining a state professional engineer or land surveyor license. The amended law is available at: http://www.ipels.idaho.gov/forms_pubs/100104withEditforPendingRule.doc

Also on the teleconference agenda will be an explanation of the Professional Development Hour program and an announcement about the Idaho Society of Professional Engineers annual meeting in Coeur d’Alene (June 11, 12).

Participation in the teleconference is worth one Professional Development Hour. To receive the credit, participants must sign a roster confirming attendance.
