District 3 returns to 'residency' model
District 3 changed this week from the region-based structure under which it had operated the past few years to one based on a residency alignment. The change took effect Monday (April 20).
Under the new operational format, Gary Moles will serve as Maintenance Engineer for the entire district, freeing resident engineers to focus on what they do best – construction.
Instead of four “regions,” the new alignment changes to Residency 1 through 4. Crews will continue to be responsible for the same geographic areas in day-to-day work as they have in the past, but additional projects will be assigned based on workload, not geography.
Minor changes in the reporting structure also will take effect (mostly related to maintenance functions), but most employees will not notice a significant difference. The change will separate construction and maintenance functions for District 3, allowing greater focus on those areas.
Resident engineers:
Residency 1 – Daris Bruce
Residency 2 – Tom Points
Residency 3 - Shawna King
Residency 4 – Jeff Morf (replaces Gary Moles)
