District 4 employees honored for longevity

Walter Burnside still busted out in song and Dianna Schlund got an expensive present, but it wasn’t anybody’s birthday. More like hundreds of years of ITD experience being rewarded.

Thirty-two individuals were recognized on during the District 4 Employee Benefit Fund Longevity Awards luncheon. Twenty-eight others received their 2008 safety awards.

“Like I always say, thank you for your years of hard work,” District Engineer Devin Rigby said.

The awards were highlighted by the 40-years of work by Twin Falls office manager Dianne Schlund and three maintenance foremen recognized for 25 years each.

“Between myself, Dennis Jensen, Jarret Porter, and Allen Knight, we have over 100 years of plowing and fixing roads,” maintenance coordinator Ron Robinson said.

Walter gave his best version of Rod Steward to Bonita Koonce, but to the thanks from the rest of the room Dennis Black did not do the same for John Cotton's 30 years.
