Answers to your health insurance questions

Employees posed the following questions to a recent announcement about changes in state employee health insurance. Answers are provided by Human Resources Services. Please direct any other questions to Human Resources Specialist Carlin Hill.

Q. Do I need to need to do anything if I am not changes my medical plan?
No.

Q. Do I need to do anything for the change to Blue Cross Dental?
No

Q. I have FSA; will I need to re-enroll if I want to continue this plan?
Yes, you must re-enroll for flexible spending each fiscal year.

Q. Are we getting new FSA debit cards this year?
Your debit card has an expiration date.  Please refer to your card to determine if you will be receiving a new card this year.

Q. How do I qualify for FSA?
You must be eligible for benefits for at least 10-months prior July 1st.

Q. How do I find the list of formulary drugs on the Blue Cross Web site?
Go to bcidaho.com. Click on the Prescription Drugs icon in the lower right corner. Click on the Prescription Drug List.

Q. Can I stop my insurance and go on my spouse’s state plan instead?
Yes, you can cancel your insurance and have your spouse add you at any time.  

Q. Do I have to submit my open enrollment on-line?
Yes. Group Insurance cannot accept pay enrollment forms since we are a State Controller’s Office Payroll agency.
