Keep up vigilance for aggressive drivers

ITD friends,

This is a request for information and a pat on the back. Last Sunday, while driving from Livingston, Mont., to Salt Lake City, somewhere on I-15, between Idaho Falls and Malad I saw a great electronic sign sporting a catchy phrase, obviously part of your TACT program, targeting aggressive drivers' attitudes.

BRAVO! May you be effective in enforcing it. Can you send me that slogan and/or any other of your slogans you use to target aggressive behavior? It's a choices-and-consequences thing. The one I saw was simply great. Unfortunately, I couldn't remember it more than a couple of miles.

Every year I have to drive to SLC for medical reasons, and somewhere in that same stretch of highway, along about Pocatello, I begin to notice the aggressive driving habits I escaped when we moved from SLC to Libby, Mont., in 2004. The aggression increases the further south one drives.

Nowhere I've driven, including Los Angeles and Chicago, have I encountered worse driving than along the stretch of I-15 from there, all down the whole Wasatch Front of Utah. Has anyone ever studied why people in Idaho and Utah might, perhaps, deal with pent-up feelings by "doing unto others," then speeding away? It would be an interesting research project, if it hasn't been attempted.

I would appreciate the slogans, if you could direct me to their source or share them with me.
