District 1 to feel heat of renovation;
office shuffle will limit ability to videoconference
It could prove to be a long, hot summer for ITD employees in Coeur d’Alene.
District 1 Business Manager Scotty Fellom announced this week a major renovation will begin Tuesday on the heating, ventilation and air conditioning system at the Coeur d’Alene office. Installation of new equipment will displace many workers, on a rotating basis.
Employees will vacate their workstations and be housed temporarily in conference rooms while work takes place in their office areas. The converted conference rooms will be available for videoconferencing on a very limited basis and no new videoconferences will be scheduled until the work is completed.
“During this time, the district is requesting limited videoconference use and we won’t be scheduling the use of any of our conference rooms because they will be used as employee work space and for contractorstaging.”
The contract allows up to 180 days to complete the project, although Fellom hopes the work will be finished earlier.
