Teamwork makes ITD championship material

We extend to each of you our sincere appreciation for the unwavering loyalty and dedication you have shown during the recent administrative changes. While change can present challenges, the cooperation, support and commitment to move forward together that you have demonstrated is greatly appreciated.

The challenge ahead is to continue doing what we do best and to do it even better.

I had an opportunity the past week to participate in the annual WASHTO (Western Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials) meeting in Portland. Discussions with other transportation leaders confirmed for me that Idaho is blessed with some of the best people in the business. I would match your dedication and expertise with that of any other state.

I also learned that we must continue to focus on providing outstanding performance to our constituents – the people of Idaho. Expectations have never been higher. And opportunities for success have never been greater. To accomplish the tasks set before us will require a continued commitment to customer service, quality and performance.

I often consider athletics an appropriate model. The team that wins championships are teams that:

– Out-work ‘em
– Out-last ‘em
– Out-think ‘em
– And that pull together with loyalty

Now is the time to work hard, persevere, work smarter and work as a team.

I want to thank each of you for your commitment and innovation. I also want to thank you for continuing to look forward and move forward – to continue the road we’re on. Finally, I want to thank you for your solid loyalty during this transition.

We have much to do. We will do it well; we will do it efficiently; and we will do it together. Without a doubt, the ITD team is championship material.
