Widespread input needed on recognition plan

COMMENT: I think it is commendable that management has formed a team to find ways to recognize employees for “jobs well done”.

Having team membership spread into motor vehicles and aeronautics is commendable but you seem to be missing any district representation. (and no I do not want to be a member). The maintenance crews are spread far and wide in sheds located in many remote areas. Sure hope you can figure out some recognition for these folks. Maybe having a few committee members from the district maintenance groups would be a real asset when looking for way to recognize “all” ITD employees not just those who work at HQ.

RESPONSE:

Bob,
Thank you for your comments regarding the need for the Employee Rewards and Recognition to consider the districts in its proposal for the agency. Failing direct involvement from a district representative, the purpose of the article in the Transporter was to ensure that employees know about the team and that broad input is obtained.

Additionally, Mary Lou Brown, Division of Highways Business Manager, and Mike Cram, former D3, Division Business Manager, are the team members representing the Division of Highways. are keeping the districts in mind as we develop our proposal. We appreciate your interest in this team’s activities and we invite recommendations and suggestions from all ITD employees.
Thank you for taking time to send us your thoughts and concerns.
Lori Millonzi, team leader
