Rescued puppy meets untimely demise

"Dogs are not our whole life, but they make our lives whole." (Roger Caras)

Amy Day
District 5 Maintenance
It is with a heavy heart that I tell you this will be the last “Uber update.”

Uber has died.

On Oct. 7 I took him to the vet to get his shots and also to get him “fixed.” I took the story of the day we found Uber, and told the vet this will explain why he is missing a toe. I asked Dr. Lincoln G. Mumford to take super good care of Uber because he is special and he has more fans than Santa Claus. Dr. Mumford assured me that he would.

But, Uber died a couple hours after I got him home. My little buddy had been over medicated.

The District 5 McCammon Maintenance guys and I buried him near the guardrail where we found him. With him lay his toys, his blankie and his state ID badge.

I just want to thank everyone for the outpouring of Uber inquiries.

He was an awesome friend and he deserved all that attention.
