What’s better than lunch with a few good friends/colleagues? Joining them for a holiday potluck and saying “congratulations.” District 1 employees recently assembled for their annual holiday potluck luncheon that included, according to business manager Scotty Fellom, “fantastic food, great company and a record attendance.” It was truly a district event, with employees from Bonners Ferry, Sandpoint, Plummer, Mullan, Osburn, Harrison and Priest River, along with those who work in Coeur d’Alene. A large number of retirees returned for the celebration. A basket raffle was held to raise much needed funds to continue sponsorship of the annual employee recognition spring barbecue and the annual holiday luncheon. Employees put together 30 baskets and donated gift cards, Fellom said. “Including the basket raffle ticket sales and cash donations at the luncheon, employees raised $949.37,” Fellom reported. In addition to the presentation of district service and safety awards, six new honors were bestowed on seasoned employees for mentoring new colleagues. Commendations were given to Dick Standish, Rich Brown, Dave Bohrn, Ron Carpenter, Larry Willey and Ralph Wernecke. “These six employees who assist in training staff have set the standard for professionalism. They are experts in their own fields and continue to be role models for all of us to emulate,” Fellom said. Published 1-1-2010 |
