ITD completes first Accountability Report

ITD delivered copies of the 2009 Annual Accountability Report to Gov. C.L. “Butch” Otter and legislators this week. The 24-page report reviews progress the department is making to address the Office of Performance Evaluation audit and the governor’s executive order on accountability.

“The department’s leadership and staff are committed to effectiveness and delivering transportation services that compare well with the best in the business,” wrote ITD Deputy Director Scott Stokes in the introduction.

“It is within our reach. The initiatives and tools described in the Office of Performance Evaluation’s Audit, as implemented by the Governor’s Executive Order, are key components to achieving our mutual vision of effectiveness.”

The report includes a timeline that tracks progress on the audit and executive order, beginning early last year and projecting activity through 2012. Topics covered in the report include:

  • Performance goals
  • Performance measures
  • Management systems
  • Statewide transportation system plan
  • The federal stimulus program
  • The GARVEE program, and
  • ITD’s FY 2010 budget

The accountability report is available on ITD’s Web site (itd.idaho.gov) and is located in both the Accountability section and Publications.
