Quick response saves conference, return flight

ITD Division of Motor Vehicles,
Re: service of Terry-Jo Gaylin, Jeannie Purcell and Naomi Rawls

Last week my husband Kerry was in Seattle at a conference. When he left home, he didn’t realize his license had expired. He was allowed by the Pocatello Airport to pass through security and board his flight. Thank goodness for “small-town” common sense.

However, this later proved to be a huge problem for him. The conference was in the Federal Building.

He was interrogated and searched extensively. Even though he was with a group of people and was obviously previously registered for the conference, he was not allowed to attend the first meetings. He was also warned that he probably would not be able to board his return flight, as the Sea-Tac Airport security was on a whole different level.

Fortunately, the local DMV forwarded me to your office. I was able to download the Idaho Driver License Extension Form and fax it to him for signature. He was very fortunate that your office was able to accept his faxed signature and give him outstanding attention by faxing him a letter from the State of Idaho, granting him an extension of his driver’s license. He was able to attend the conference beginning that very afternoon. And he arrived home safely, and on time, late Thursday evening.

… We want to thank the ladies in your office for their exceptional customer service and help in our time of need. We really were in panic mode. I would also like to share that Kerry went to the Bannock County Courthouse first thing Friday morning and got his new driver’s license.

This was an honest oversight on his part. Something he just overlooked. Your ladies really saved the day.

We are extremely grateful and thought we should share our thanks.

Mrs. Kerry Pepper
