Transportation board honors 59 employees
for service, nine recent retirees

Three employees who have reached 40 years of service to Idaho citizens were among those honored Wednesday by the transportation board during its monthly business meeting in Boise.

Becky Davis, Jesse Smith and Dave Turner all reached the four-decade plateau of service in the last half of 2009. They joined 56 other employees who were honored for achieving career milestones.

Idaho Transportation Board members also recognized, before a standing room only crowd in the Headquarters Auditorium, nine ITD employees who gave up parking spaces for the adventures of retirement. Collectively, they represented 186 years of service, or an average of 20.6 years of state service.

Board member Gary Blick of District 4 provided opening remarks at the semiannual awards ceremony while Alan Frew, administrator of the Division of Motor Vehicles, was the master of ceremonies. ITD Director Brian Ness joined in presenting the certificates.
