Targhee information added to 511 transit

511 Transit – 511.idaho.gov - recently welcomed Targhee Regional Public Transportation Authority (TRPTA) to its online tracking program. The addition of TRPTA brings the total service providers on the new system to six. The new system eventually will feature a total of 12 fixed-route service providers across Idaho – allowing customers and service providers to easily access route information and updates.

"511 Transit provides our customers an easy way to track the buses and routes they are interested in – providing them the information they need before they head to the stop to catch the bus,” said Lynn Seymour, TRPTA executive director. “We’re excited to be part of the 511 Transit System. The system allows all transit providers to offer an improved customer experience locally and improves transportation coordination throughout the local regions and state. This new system is definitely a step in the right direction."

Customers can find up-to-date route information regarding the following TRPTA routes and stops:

  • Idaho Falls red, blue, yellow, and green routes
  • Salmon to Idaho Falls
  • Rexburg to Driggs
  • Idaho Falls to Rexburg

The new system, made its debut in March. Providers on the system include: Citylink, START Bus, Pocatello Regional Transit, Northwestern Trailways, North Idaho Community Express and Targhee Regional Public Transportation Authority. Transit providers expected to come online in the near future include: Regional Public Transportation, Mountain Rides Transit Authority, Treasure Valley Transit, Salt Lake Express, Valley Regional Transit and the city of Lewiston.
