I want to make you aware of a minor change that the executive management team asked to have implemented, effective June 14.
Beginning June 14, after users enter their username and password to access an ITD computer, they will be presented with a very simple dialog box containing a policy awareness statement the executive management team has approved.
The user simply clicks on the “OK” button, or hits the “Return/Enter” key to proceed as he or she normally would.
This dialog box is only presented after a machine is booted up, rebooted or when a user logs off and either logs back on, or a new user logs on. It is not presented from a locked personal computer or screen saver lock.
The intent of this new login process is to raise the awareness of important ITD policy that must be adhered too when using state-owned computer equipment, and to ensure everyone knows what policy is relevant to ITD computer users.
The sample dialog boxes represent what it will look like both in Windows XP and Windows 7 operating systems. |
