D-1 crowns Jensen king of roadeo

The weather gods finally smiled on District One by providing a beautiful, sunny day for this year’s Truck Roadeo.

Hosted by the Bonners Ferry Maintenance crew, the roadeo tested the knowledge and skills of 36 contestants during the day’s events. Nearly 70 people participated in this year's events, including some great cooks who provided one of District One’s legendary lunches. In addition to the tasty burgers and hotdogs, contestants feasted on the best baked beans this side of Boston.

When the dust settled, Dylan Jensen took first place. Second place went to Miles Stevens, and Jody Blakeley took home the third place prize. New foreman Marc Johnson was the top foreman. They will travel to Rigby, along with judges Wally Brown and Nick Primmer, for the State Roadeo on Tuesday (June 15).
