Road Rage takes third in softball tournament for state agencies

ITD’s softball team, composed primarily of District 3 and Headquarters employees, placed third among 28 Slow Pitch softball teams, representing 32 state agencies. The team went 4-1 overall in the state tournament, which started in late May and resumed July 10 after being rained out.

On May 22, the team won two games before the tourney was suspended. Before the rain/sleet hit, ITD squeaked by a team from the Attorney General’s Office 18-17 before blasting the Department of Labor team by 14 runs in their second game.  A third game, against the Department of Corrections team, was rained out.

When play resumed early this month, Road Rage lost to the Department of Corrections 13-4, before rallying to win against the Idaho Dairy Association’s “Got Milk Mafia,” 16-8 and against the Juvenile “Docket Dodgers,” 20-14. The Department of Corrections team went on to win the tournament.

The games took place at the Willow Lane Softball Complex in Boise. The squad plans on staying together and returning next year to win it all, according to team members.
