ITD receives national award of excellence for pooled fund project

ITD's Office of Highway Operations and Safety (OHOS) received a national excellence award for its work to develop a "Northwest Passage Pooled Fund" project, The award was for "The Best New Innovative Practice," and was presented recently at the National Rural Intelligent Transportation Systems conference in Huntington, W.Va., according to OHOS Engineer Brent Jennings.

Eight northern states along the Interstate 90/95 corridor -- from Washington to Wisconsin, including Idaho -- initiated a collaborative effort and pooled resources to share traveler information through their respective 511 systems and to develop maintenance across the corridor. Organization of the coalition began in 2003.

Jennings commended and congratulated ITD Mobility Services Engineer Bob Koeberlein and the Mobility Services team for their work on the pooled-fund project."On behalf of the entire 'Mighty OHOS Team,' thanks Bob for a job well done."
