Administrative workshop unfolds Wednesday

Final preparations are being made for the Administrative Support Workshop Wednesday (Oct. 13) at the Nazareth Retreat Center, 4450 N Five Mile Road in Boise.

ITD Director Ness will be the opening speaker. The special day of training for the administrative support staff will encompass a variety of speakers from within ITD to broaden our knowledge of the department. The speakers are: Jeanne Purcell, Division of Motor Vehicles, speaking about central issuance of drivers’ licenses and the “one person-one record concept; Vic Parrish from Human Resource Development, customer service; and Sue Higgins, secretary to the transportation board, a general overview of board responsibilities and functions.

Three outside guest speakers also are planned: Dawn Cramer will speak on positive communication; Phyllis Nadler will talk about positive ways to deal with stress; and retired ITD public involvement coordinator Gwen Smith will close the workshop.

Registration will be from 8 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. at the conference center. The workshop will conclude around 4:30 p.m. Any administrative professional who has not registered yet is encouraged to do so as soon as possible so numbers can be provided to the Nazareth Center. Registration forms are available from Carla Anderson or Judie Cahoon at Headquarters.
The workshop committee wishes to thank the many ITD employees who generously donated door prizes.
