Prahasto memorial service planned Saturday

A memorial service for ITD employee Jonathan Prahasto, who died Oct. 4 in a tragic twovehicle crash near Ashton, will be Saturday (Oct. 16), at 5 p.m. at Boondocks in Island Park. The service will be followed by a potluck dinner and an open time for family and friends to reminisce about his life.

Prahasto, 55, was westbound in a one-ton ITD pickup truck north of Ashton on U.S. 20 when it collided with a Peterbilt semi carrying produce. The collision occurred shortly after 11:30 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 4. Idaho State Police continue to investigate the accident.

A resident of Island Park, Prahasto was based at the Island Park maintenance shed, where he worked as a transportation technician. He had served the department 16 years.

The fatal crash is the first involving an on-duty ITD employee in more than five years.
