Fun fundraising activities planned at Headquarters

ITD formally kicked off its campaign Sept. 29, to support the 2010 State Employees’ Charitable Giving Campaign. The annual event, which provides financial support for a wide range of community organizations, will continue through Nov. 5.

As in the past, coordinators at Headquarters and District 3 have organized a number of fundraising activities in support of the campaign.

A “treat sale” of baked goods and sweet treats is planned in the main lunchroom at Headquarters, Tuesday, Oct. 26. The sale will begin at 8:30 a.m.

Headquarters employees will have an opportunity to bid on a variety of goods and services at a silent auction that runs from Tuesday, Oct. 26 through Friday, Oct. 29. High bidders will be announced at the end of the week.

A theme basket raffle will be held again this year, on Thursday and Friday, Oct. 28, 29. Divisions and individuals are encouraged to contribute a basket.

Raffle tickets will be sold in the Headquarters Lobby Oct. 28, 29 for homemade goodies and artfully assembled baskets. Tickets will be $1 each or seven for $5.

Employees can do more than open their wallets and purses for the three events. Bakers and candy makers are needed to help with the treat sale. Volunteers also are needed to help with silent auction items. Many of the items will be focused on services, such as yard cleanup, Christmas light installation, gift wrapping, special-order foods preparation, photography, babysitting and other creative, generous gifts of time and labor.

Volunteer also are needed to contribute to theme baskets and assemble the items in baskets.

“We also need some volunteers to sell tickets on Thursday, October 28 and Friday, October 29th between 10 and 2,” said ITD charitable giving coordinator Tammie Jauregui. To offer your time and talent to the activities, call her at ext. 8807.
