ITD looking for public input on 20-year long-range plan

ITD is sponsoring public meetings throughout the state this month to obtain input on a plan to improve safety, mobility and economic vitality.

"Idaho On The Move" is the department's long-range plan to enhance those areas. Over the next 20 years, transportation activities and projects that improve safety, mobility and economic vitality will be priorities.

The document presents information on management principles, investment strategies and implementation of the plan. Other subjects covered in the plan include the use of limited resources, the importance of partnerships with state, federal and local agencies, and providing exceptional customer service.

The first public meeting was held Thursday in Post Falls. The remainder of the schedule is:

  • Monday, Nov. 8 - Bonneville Metropolitan Planning Organization, 1810 W. Broadway, Suite 15, Idaho Falls
  • Tuesday, Nov. 9 - Pocatello City Hall, 911 N. 7th Ave., Pocatello
  • Wednesday, Nov. 10 - Twin Falls Council Chambers, 305 3rd Avenue East, Twin Falls
  • Monday, Nov. 15 - Boise State University Student Union Building, Farnsworth Room, 1910 University Dr., Boise
  • Thursday, Nov. 18 - Lewiston Red Lion Hotel, 621 21st St., Lewiston

The meetings will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., in an open-house format. People can visit any time between those hours to view displays and submit comments.

Comments also can be submitted via e-mail by sending them to lrtp@itd.idaho.gov or by standard mail to Sonna Lynn Fernandez, Intermodal Planning Manager, Idaho Transportation Department, P.O. Box 7129, Boise, ID 83707-1129. The deadline for submitting formal comments is Nov. 23.
