Heart attack claims recently retired security officer Tim Ramsey

Tim Ramsey, former security officer at ITD’s Headquarters in Boise, passed away unexpectedly Saturday (Oct. 30) as a result of an aneurysm. He had just arrived in South Carolina where he and his wife were relocating to be closer to children and grandchildren.

For those of you who had the pleasure of working with Tim, you are aware of his kind heart, his warm smiles, and the pride he took in the security position he held for ITD.

Tim’s death was sudden. When I heard the news I simply could not believe it. Tim was well loved by family, friends, co-workers and well liked by those who surrounded him. He had done so many things on earth, and I’m sure he’ll do much more in heaven. For those of you who knew Tim, you will forever be grateful to have known him.

Tim had lived an amazing life even though it was rather short. Singing, playing the guitar, and playing with the grand kids was his joy. Tim was a great friend; he was the kind of friend that stands by you when you need somebody to be there. Tim was a man that was kind and generous. He loved his family, his music, and his job at ITD. There was never a time that you could not talk to him or that he would not offer advice (asked for or not). Some of you may not have known Tim the way that I did, but for those who did not get to see this side of him, you missed out on knowing a “Great Man.”

A man that made sure that his family was taken care of even if it meant he had to sacrifice something important to him. A man who took pride in all he did.

The family will have a small service for Tim in South Carolina. A package will be sent to Tim’s wife on Monday Nov.8. For those of you who wish to send regards to his family… they would appreciate a cash donation and letters reminiscing about your personal experience with Tim.
