District 1 presents service, safety awards
District 1 employees paused recently to honor colleagues for their contributions to the transportation department and to share the holiday spirit.
Service and safety awards were presented Dec. 9 during the holiday luncheon. The event also included a raffle for gift baskets, with the proceeds dedicated to a district employee activity committee that sponsors a summer barbecue and the holiday luncheon. The raffle generated about $900 for the fund.
“Ninety-one people, including numerous retirees, braved the cold to attend this annual event,” said D-1 business manager Scotty Fellom.
