State-of-the-state address planned Monday afternoon

Idaho lawmakers will officially launch the 2011 Legislative session at noon (MST) Monday, followed about an hour later by Gov. C.L. “Butch” Otter’s annual State of the State/Budget address.

The governor’s address will be carried live statewide by Idaho Public Television on its primary digital channel and by some commercial television stations, including KTVB in the Boise area. Live streaming on the Internet also will be available through IPTV’s website.

After winning re-election in November, the governor was sworn into office again during a private ceremony Monday (Jan. 3). The oath of office was administered publicly today (Jan. 7).

ITD Director Brian Ness and other department representatives will meet with the House and Senate transportation committees (germane) Jan. 20, tentatively at 1:30 p.m. The Joint Appropriations and Finance Committee (JFAC) will hear the formal presentation of ITD’s FY 2012 budget request on Feb. 8, beginning at 9:30 a.m.

JFAC’s budget-setting process will begin Feb. 21 and should be completed by March 11.
