Treasure Valley Incident Response Team: 100,000 customers served
At some time, most drivers have a flat tire on their vehicle, need a tow, run out of gas, have an engine overheat, or are involved in or are on the scene of a fender-bender. That's why ITD formed the Incident Response unit in 1997.

ITD employees,
Last month, I introduced myself to you. Now, I would like to outline my leadership style and management philosophy. I believe in setting high goals and positioning employees to achieve them. I hold employees accountable for attaining those goals. Organizational success and individual performance must be based on goals that are defined and measurable. Anyone can say how he or she is doing, but in the end it is results that count.  Actions speak louder than words.

Director, administrators present budget request to JFAC
ITD Director Brian Ness and administrators made the department's annual budget presentation to the Legislature’s Joint Finance and Appropriations Committee Thursday morning, requesting an FY11 budget of $579 million. Director Ness made the 30-minute presentation. Deputy Director Scott Stokes, Chief Engineer Tom Cole, DMV Administrator Alan Frew and Division of Administration Administrator Dave Tolman also attended to help answer questions.

Three I-84 interchanges changing landscape

Vassar appointed to 6-year board term; Blick named vice-chairman for 2010
The Idaho Senate this week unanimously approved the appointment of Jan Vassar to the Idaho Transportation Board to a full six-year term that will expire in 2016. She was selected to fill the remainder of Bruce Sweeney’s term on the board after he passed away of cancer in August. The term formally expired Jan. 31.

Employees receive maintenance, safety honors
Citing outstanding contributions to Idaho’s transportation system, the Idaho Highway Users Inc. honored ITD employees George Shutes and Tony Warth with Motorvator Awards this week. The awards were presented during the organization’s annual luncheon for state legislators Wednesday in Boise.
