New phones to be installed at Headquarters Feb. 18-21

A new telephone system and new phones will be installed throughout Headquarters buildings beginning at 6 p.m., Friday, Feb. 18, and continuing through Monday, Feb. 21.

The deployment of new phones will progress according to the following schedule:

  • Friday, Feb. 18, 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., Division of Motor Vehicles
  • Saturday, Feb. 19, 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., all other offices at Headquarters buildings
  • Sunday, Feb. 20, tests of telephone functions

A large group of people will be involved with the deployment, and they will go into each office and cubicle, rapidly changing out the phones. If there are things obstructing computers or telephone they will be moved out of the way. Please ensure that the area around your computer is clear so that it can be rotated 180 degrees. Employees also are asked to put away any sensitive, breakable or valuable items.

Please be aware of the following:

  • Do not do anything with your new phone. Leave it in the box and put the box under your existing phone
  • Any messages you have saved on your old phone will not carry over to your new phone so retrieve/transcribe those messages before conversion to the new system begins
  • During that weekend, the phones will not be functional
  • Review the handouts received during your phone training
