April brings new focus on records management

In April, Records Professionals in all occupations refocus energies on the importance of managing information in all formats to benefit their co-workers and organizations. April is recognized as Records and Information Management (RIM) Month.

Please visit our website for links to ITD Records Retention Schedules, Forms Management, and the Imaging Center, as well as helpful links to other RIM information available.

We also have brochures available: “What is a Record?” and“What Information Should I File? What Should I Discard?” Please contact us for copies.

In addition, there is an opportunity to have your personal records shredded for free on April 16, from 10 a.m. to noon, in the ITD parking lot. Western Records and Cintas are teaming with the Better Business Bureau to provide shredding services.

As a side benefit, you can donate your old computer to the “Computers for Kids” program at the same time. There are brochures available at the ITD reception desk. See details here.
