Insurance open enrollment continues through May 27

The FY2012 Open Enrollment Information page includes the following changes to our health insurance starting July 1, 2011. Please review the brochure for detailed information:

  • Premium Rates for FY2012
  • New EAP Vendor
  • New eligible dependents maximum age
  • Lifetime maximum rules change
  • Change in pre-existing conditions waiting period for minors

SPECIAL NOTE TO SUPERVISORS: There will no longer be a 90 day waiting period for new employees who are eligible for benefits. The new rule will start for anyone hired on July 1, 2011 or later.

Open Enrollment is May 11 through May 27 this year. During Open Enrollment, you will be able to:

  • Change from one plan to another
  • Add dependents to dental coverage
  • Change the Premium Only Plan designation (Pre or Post Tax)
  • Enroll or Re-enroll in Flexible Spending (FSA)

All open enrollment changes must be done on-line through Employee Self Service on the State Controller’s Office website. The Controller’s Office has provided a "help" button to assist you if needed.

If you are unsure what coverage level you are paying for or what your current Flexible Spending amount is, please refer to your paystub.

Information on your current Flexible Spending account can be obtained through the SHDR website, using your login. Or you can call (800) 768-4873 or (800) 930-2441
