Gov. C.L. “Butch” Otter announced his priorities for the 2008 Legislative session when he presented the annual State of the State/Budget Address Monday from Boise State University. Board to honor retiring Jack Combo
For the past 18 years, Idaho Transportation Board Member Jack Combo has been a strong supporter of ITD employees. He knows they are the backbone of the department. He knows they are committed to their jobs and are dedicated to serving the great state of Idaho. Part of Combo’s vocal support has been in the area of training and development. He has been a strong advocate of continuing education for ITD employees as a means of personal development, furthering their careers and improving ITD services.

Chaney becomes first ITD graduate of Certified Public Manager program
A graduation ceremony in December formally concluded nearly four years of specialized training for Martin Chaney, making him the first – and thus far – only ITD employee to become a Certified Public Manager. Chaney was taking optional classes in management from Boise State University when he learned that Idaho ITD would begin offering the CPM program for state employees

Program is a 'win-win' proposition for employees, agency
Supervisors and managers in public agencies are eligible to apply for entry into Idaho’s Certified Public Manager program. It consists of five levels of training totaling 300 hours to be completed over three years. Participation increases advancement opportunities by giving a valuable skill base that can be transferred to any public agency.

New special plate to benefit families of military troops
Gov. C.L. “Butch” Otter will join sponsors of Idaho’s newest special license plate at a Wednesday news conference to formally introduce the Support Our Troops plate. The event is scheduled for 10:15 a.m. in the governor’s office. Proceeds from the special plate will provide support and assistance to the children, dependents and spouses of military service members and armed forces of the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Army National Guard, U.S. Coast Guard, Air National Guard and Reserves.
