Eagle Road (Idaho 55) construction begins tonight
BOISE – Tonight (Tuesday, Aug. 23), the Idaho Transportation Department will begin constructing a third northbound lane on Eagle Road from Franklin Road to Fairview Avenue. In addition, ITD will add right-turn lanes at the intersections of Franklin Road, Pine Avenue, Fairview Avenue and at the entrances of Lanark Drive and Presidential Drive.
This work is going to greatly increase mobility on a congested stretch of one of the valley’s busiest roads — Eagle Road is the busiest non-interstate route in all of Idaho. This will translate into a safer route.
What to Expect:
*Eagle Road will remain open at all times. Lanes will be restricted at night from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.
*At least one lane in each direction will remain open during the overnight work.
*Access to businesses may be temporarily restricted during nighttime paving operations. (10 p.m. to 5 a.m.)
*The speed limit will be reduced to 40 mph during construction. Construction crews will begin signal work, utility relocations and installing pipes over the next couple of weeks.
Construction is expected to be complete late this year.
The improvements are intended to improve safety on this important corridor.
Idaho Materials & Construction is the contractor for this project.
