District 5’s Hudman named 2016 Safety Person of the Year
For his focus on safety and his ability to create solutions, District 5’s Tyler Hudman has been named 2016 Safety Person of the Year, and was officially recognized at the Idaho Transportation Board’s meeting Oct. 20 in Headquarters. Hudman received a plaque, and a traveling trophy, on display at HQ, was updated to include his name.

ITD Chief Operations Officer Jim Carpenter to retire at end of year
Jim Carpenter, ITD’s Chief Operations Officer since 2013 and a department employee since 1985, will be stepping aside at the end of the year. After 31 years, he departs Dec. 30.
Significant slowdown expected next several weeks as DMV county offices implement new software for licenses, cards
The Idaho Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV) is installing new software around the state in late October and early November that affects systems for driver's licenses, identification (ID) cards and various permits. As a result, customers will experience longer wait times over the next three to four weeks as staff work to optimize software and security procedures.
