District 2 contains 1,500 lane miles packed into a five-county area covering more than 13,000 square miles of diverse geography and rugged terrain. It represented the perfect proving ground to demonstrate the effectiveness of the department’s winter road-clearing system.

Next stage of I-90 Pinehurst bridges project now underway
Work began March 15 on the westbound portion of the reconstruction of the Interstate 90 bridges at Pinehurst. The eastbound portion was rebuilt last year. The project is expected to finish in early October.

Encore (04-03-15): Idaho driver licenses and identification cards will be accepted for official federal purposes for now
Idaho driver’s licenses and identification cards will be accepted for official federal purposes following approval of a REAL ID compliance enforcement extension request, granted March 27, by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS). The approval allows for these cards to be accepted as proof of identity for entrance into locations such as nuclear facilities, military bases and federal buildings, and for boarding federally regulated air travel.
