ITD Director Ness offers security, emergency management plan
ITD Director Brian Ness revealed his plan to upgrade security and emergency-management measures for state transportation departments at the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) annual meeting in Chicago. The AASHTO Board of Directors approved the plan Monday (Sept. 28).

Office of Highway Safety
Encore (09-25-15): Three eastern Idaho counties with zero fatalities recognized by board
Three eastern Idaho counties in the Idaho Transportation Department’s District 6 region recorded no highway fatalities in 2014, and those efforts to keep travelers safe on Idaho highways were recognized by the Idaho Transportation Board Sept. 16 at the ITD D6 office in Rigby.

Encore (09-25-15): Idaho Aeronautics receives national safety award
Idaho’s Division of Aeronautics won the prestigious Aviation Education Award at the recent National Association of State Aviation Officials annual conference in Boise for a safety initiative at Idaho’s most popular backcountry airstrip, the Johnson Creek Airstrip near Yellow Pine, a small village east of McCall.
