ITD presents at Lewiston High School April 12 on career options
Careers with the Idaho Transportation Department took center stage at Lewiston High School April 12 as several employees from ITD’s District 2 office presented during the school’s “career awareness hour” put on through the Idaho Department of Labor.

Idaho Transportation Board
STIP workshop will lead transportation board return to Boise for April meeting
Following a visit to District 2 in north-central Idaho in March, the Idaho Transportation Board will return to ITD Headquarters in Boise for its April meeting. On April 27, the board will have a workshop to update the 2017-21 Statewide Transportation Improvement Program. At the business meeting, April 28, staff will request approval of the mid-year programming plan to advance projects.

Idaho Byways
Annual Idaho Byways Advisory Committee meeting set for May 5 in Moscow
Idaho Byways, Idaho Transportation Department updates and the Hells Canyon Scenic Byway extension will lead discussion when the Idaho Byways Advisory Council (IBAC) meets Thursday, May 5. The meeting is open to the public and will be held from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. in the Centennial Room at the Best Western University Inn, 1516 Pullman Rd., in Moscow.

Every day is Earth Day for transportation departments working to support the environmental, mobility and economic needs of the communities they serve. Encore (04-15-16): Jacobsen, already the record-holder at 57 years of state service, shoots for 60…and beyond
Where were you in 1959? Some of us were still a gleam in a parent's eyes, some were young kids or teenagers, and very few had any sort of meaningful job. But Terry Jacobsen was already on the clock with ITD. Fifty-seven years later, he's still on the clock, working toward a Diamond anniversary. That's right — he's going for 60.

Adopt-A-Highway
Encore (04-15-16): It's spring — roadways statewide available for adoption as roadside litter cleanup time arrives
While each political election cycle and scores of new businesses inundate us daily with new slogans, a familiar phrase perfectly describes this time of year on Idaho highways – “Idaho Is Too Great To Litter.” The 1990 campaign is still active and appealing to volunteer groups throughout Idaho. And more volunteers are needed.
