Celebrating the many benefits of bicycling and walking, Gov. C.L. "Butch" Otter signed a proclamation yesterday (Thursday, May 26) declaring May 2016 as Idaho's "Bicycle and Pedestrian Safety and Awareness Month."

Skinner, Foster return to podium at District 5 equipment roadeo
A record number of participants competed in District 5’s equipment roadeo May 18. As a result, some different faces ascended to the podium — different, but not unknown. Justin Skinner and Troy Foster finished first and second in the Transportation Technician category, returning to winning form years after their last victories in the event.

Tony Rojas from District 6 faced a recurring problem each time the crew sealed cracks in the roadway. He used a product from another industry – golf – to solve the problem.

Encore (05-20-16): ITD wins trio of American motor vehicle association awards
The Idaho Transportation Department won three awards May 12 from the American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators (AAMVA), including two for efforts designed to increase public awareness of critical highway-safety initiatives.
