Transportation board meets July 27-28 in north Idaho for district tour and business meeting
The Idaho Transportation Board will tour several businesses in northern Idaho and recognize Boundary County for its commitment to “Toward Zero Deaths” on Idaho’s roads during its monthly meeting July 27-28 in Coeur d‘Alene. The board also will meet with the mayors of Sandpoint, Kellogg and Bonners Ferry, along with officials from cities and road districts across the area.

Off-road vehicles are not safe for transporting children, cautions Idaho Child Passenger Safety Statewide Coordinator Carma McKinnon. While popular with families across the country for both recreation and work purposes, ATVs and UTVs are simply not designed to keep children onboard safe.

ITD begins new program to standardize its mobile phone use department-wide
A new program designed to standardize smart-phone use throughout the Idaho Transportation Department begins the first week in August. The program, called Bring Your Own Device (BYOD), enables authorized ITD employees to use their own phones instead of devices issued by the department.

Encore (07-15-16): Improvements to U.S. 95's north corridor awarded $5.1 million USDOT grant
The United States Department of Transportation awarded $5.1 million for the upcoming U.S. 95 north corridor access improvements. The FASTLANE grant, which must still be approved by Congress, represents a significant portion of the estimated $8.5 million that the improvements are estimated to cost.
