POE inspectors band together with North Idaho partners to bring flags to Bonners Ferry port
Since the establishment of the Bonners Ferry Port of Entry more than two decades ago, there has always been something missing — the United States flag, the Idaho State flag, and the POW/MIA flag. Thanks to the request of POE Inspector Tom Chaney, the efforts of other D1 (North Idaho) staff, an area business that donated and poured concrete for the base of the flagpole, and an ample amount of sweat equity, the Colors are now flying at the port.

Innovation - Public Outreach
Idaho Transportation Department launches new, redesigned website
To help customers quickly find information or services they need, ITD has launched a new public website. In addition to combining subject areas and offering information in a convenient format, the new website is compatible with mobile devices. When displayed on a smart-phone screen or tablet, pages will contract, while continuing to display necessary information.

Idaho Transportation Board
Safety at roving ports, bridge funding strategy and an economic preview to be discussed at board’s monthly meeting
Safety concerns at roving ports of entry, a strategy for funding future bridge repairs, and an awards presentation will highlight the Idaho Transportation Board’s November meeting, which will begin by attending the Pacific Northwest Economic Region’s annual conference, in Boise Nov. 17.

Out to sea — Pocatello's Porter oversees commission of new submarine, USS Illinois
Cmdr. Jesse Porter is the older brother of D5's Mark Porter. Jesse was recently the subject of an article from the Idaho State Journal in Pocatello. Mark is a Transportation Operations Team Lead in the Pocatello area, and in addition to winter duties is responsible for bridge maintenance programs.
