2016 Excellence in Transportation winners honored Nov. 17
In addition to winning an unprecedented number of national awards in 2016, ITD projects are being recognized at home. On Nov. 17, the agency held the annual awards ceremony for the Excellence in Transportation Awards, whcxh recognizes projects in seven different categories, and three personnel categories.

District 1
D1's Pooler spearheads late-October winter safety presentation to St. Maries Rotary Club
With their foreman sidelined, the rest of the St. Maries Maintenance Shed, led by Shanon Pooler, presented winter-safety information to the St. Maries Rotary Club on Oct. 25. The civic group was very appreciative, as it was an "eye opener" to them and the challenges faced each day and night when D1 is out fighting snowstorms for the community.

D6's McKee named "Next Generation" finalist
Mike McKee, the District Materials Engineer in D6, known as ITD's 3D and 4D project modeling authority, was selected as a finalist in the "Next Generation" category of the recent Route Fifty Navigator Awards. McKee was selected as the Idaho Transportation Department Engineer of the Year in 2015. He started with ITD as an engineer-in-training in 2008.
